In the middle of the sports field of Camping Bakkum in Castricum lies a beautiful outdoor padel court. Challenge each other and play the match of your life!
An ideal sports activity if you are staying with us at a camping spot or in an accommodation, but you are more than welcome to use the padel court if you are not a camping guest but just a visitor. The good thing is, you don't need a membership, but can simply rent the court at a time that suits you. Relaxed, right?
Practical information Opening hours
The court is open from Monday to Sunday between 10 am and 7 pm. The accompanying sports bag with the key, 4 rackets and balls can be picked up at the reception 15 minutes before your booked playing time.
Is the reception closed when you come to drop off your items? Please bring them to Bakkum Bites on the Meetingsquare.
You'll find the padel court on the large sports field, about a 10 minute walk from the reception.

Never played padel? Here's what you need to know:
Padel is a fun mix of tennis and squash, originating from Mexico and popular in Latin America and Spain. On our padel court, surrounded by fencing and glass walls, you usually play with four people (2 against 2). The small playing field and the walls bring a lot of dynamics and creativity to the game. Even if the ball passes, you can still get a chance to hit back via the wall.
The rules of the game in a nutshell:
- You play with 4 players: 2 against 2
- The scoring is the same as in tennis
- The service must be played underhand and diagonally, and must first bounce
- The ball may bounce once on the ground before it hits the fence or wall
- You may return the ball via your own wall
- A ball that hits the glass wall or the fence on the opponent's side directly is out
Padel in winter time
Did you know, you may also play padel at Camping Bakkum during the winter months? From November to February, you're able to play padel during reception opening hours.
Is the padel court at Bakkum fully booked? Then you might still be able to play at the court at Camping Geversduin, also in Castricum.
